Affiliate marketing 101

The website shown here makes all its money using affiliate marketing. It basically provides a review of all the broadband carriers in the UK.

If someone in the UK is looking to sign up for broadband service they go to this website to read about all the different carriers available and to compare different plans.

Now, after they've made their decision they can just use the links provided to them by the website owner to sign up for the service.

And guess what? The owner of the website gets a percentage of the sale. All because they provided useful content to the reader.

Not bad eh?

Follow me,(Andrew Thomasen),on my other blogs and see if (with a little hard work and maybe a little creativity) how far I can go in online/affiliate marketing. I have no prior experience in this area what so ever, and I wanted to try it out and see if all the hype we see on the net is the real deal. I'll keep you all update on my progress.

Cheers

Trying my hand at ebusiness

My name is Andrew Thomasen and I am a mature student studying web development. I have always been a little curious about ecommerce/ebusiness and I thought I'd try it out and see for myself if it's really as easy as some people say it is. I believe it's a matter of definition! Starting an online business is not that different from starting an offline one. Ecommerce I hear, is a great way to get into sales, but you do need to do some research ahead of time, and choosing a product is vital to ecommerce success. So let\s see how I do. I'll keep you all posted.
